I took a class from a local quilt designer (Dawn Heese from linenclosetdesigns.com) last week on felted wool applique'. She had some great ideas such as using a whip stitch with 2 strands of embroidery floss that matches the motif rather than doing the buttonhole stitch. I finished my block today so thought I would share it. More than likely I will add corner triangles and then make a pillow with it. I will definitely be doing more of this type of embroidery although it is a bit pricier than regular quilter's cotton is.

Comment by Amanda Best on March 16, 2013 at 3:03pm Great job, Janet! It is so fun to try new things! I have tried to steer clear of the wool in the quilt shops, so I don't get addicted to it as well!
