A friend of mine called me Thursday night. A very dear friend of her's...a sewer...had died this past month and would I please come over and rescue her sewing machines. I love vintage sewing machines and went over yesterday. I came home with a White VS treadle sewing machine (which came from the previous owner's great grandmother) and what I think is a Japanese clone of a Singer 99...it has beautiful decals but is obviously a newer machines. It is called an "Imperial" sewing machine and (to my surprise) is also a vibrating shuttle machine.
I really like the looks and feel of the treadle, but there is very little information that I can find on the threading of the machine. If there is anyone here who can point me in the direction of any, I would certainly appreciate it. The machine turns freely (a surprise to me as the previous owner hadn't sewn in about 10 years) and has a good belt on it. I suspect that once I get past my ignorance, it will be a great machine. It even has 4 bobbins...well, maybe 5 but one looks a little different than the other 4 so I am not sure. It may go to the other machine). I have also never used a VS machine...so help there would also be great!
Thanks in advance.
