Yesterday I spent organizing fabric in my draws and on shelves. I decided to make it easier then pawing through a draw for fabric that I would stand it up. Do any of you girls store your this way?

My smaller cuts of fabric are stored like that (by color) in plastic bins, then labeled on the end, so at least I can pull down the right color. Pieces more than a yard are stacked on shelves, mostly by color; sometimes by type (flannel, batik, novelty prints, etc.) Not perfect, but workable.
I like your idea and have tried to do it that way, but soon the fabric is used and the drawer becomes scrapes or good supply of 5" blocks, so I have bins in the drawer for them. I am trying not to over buy, but some fabric is on it way from CT. I will try to use it before it become a storage problem. Never seems to happen.
That's a great idea Irene!
I have mine stacked in bins like that so its easy to see colors. Oh, and 2 drawers, too, come to think of it! So much fabric, so little time!
I have three drawers and four shelving units full of fabric that I have wrapped onto foam core boards from the frame shop. It has helped me find what I have available when I start a new project. I could not get the first picture to turn around but you get the idea.
Pam I also got more fabric in the same draw. I'm always straightening out my draws so I decided to try storing it this way.
