My youngest grandson is 10 yrs old (will be 11 in Sept.)  He is a kid who has never really had a fear of anything (not always such a good thing), but due to that he has loved to ride motorized scooters since he was little bitty.  Last yr he took his own birthday money & bought a nice one for himself to the tune of $115.00.  The other day he was at a skate park in Las Vegas and he fell over while riding it.  Three teenagers came up & pretended to help him get up.  Instead of helping him, they stole his scooter.  Makes me just spittin' mad.  He is one of the sweetest kids you would ever hope to meet & would do anything for anyone so that just makes it that much worse.

It's just a shame, that we can't don't have better sense than steal from a teen. Why do they think they are deserving of anything? Thank goodness that not all teens are like this, but so many have parents that just don't pay enough attention to them I guess. So sorry for your grandson, it must be such a sad lesson for him. I just hope it doesn't send him the wrong message to be "hard" like those other teens..............

I can picture this happening to my grandson, and how devastated he would be.  My heart hurts for your grandson.  What a world sometimes.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.  I will be talking to him later on today and will let him know that you all send your sympathies.  Lea, I'm sorry you have such a horrible brother.  I have often wondered what makes 2 kids from the same parents turn out so differently.

This must be one of life's most difficult lessons:  Not everyone has your best interests at heart and Samaritans are not necessarily "good."  I'm so sorry your grandson must suffer this one at the tender age of 10.  I hope things come right for him; it sounds like he certainly deserves it.

In some lives parents aren't present enough to teach right from wrong to their children. I see it here in our country. Glad your son wasn't beaten up, but still he was hurt by the bullies or should we say coward who one day will have his own nonsense backfire where he will see no way out, but regret to all those he hurt.. Begging and crying for forgiveness.. I was bullied as a teenager, speak from experience.  I have no guilt, while the bully went on to dig himself deeper in debt, and deeper in his lies, marriage break ups, bankruptcy, became alone.. OH WAIT THAT'S MY BROTHER I'M DESCRIBING.

Hard to believe that a parent wouldn't question a new piece of any type coming home with their son.  I wish your grandson well and hope those bullies are caught.

That makes me sick. My DGD is 11 and I can't imagine how she would feel. I just hope they find them.

Those kids must be the offspring of the lowlifes who stole my wheelchair from the lobby of WalMart three years ago.

They did call the police who looked through the park in the hopes of finding it abandoned, but no such luck.  His mom also contacted one of the local tv stations who aired a segment about this at least twice.  I'm hoping that maybe one of those kids' parents will see that & figure out where the new scooter came from, but it would be a miracle if that happened.  Several family members & friends have donated money to help him get a new one.  Before that he was actually going to some of his neighbors & asking if they had chores he could do to earn enough money to buy a new one.

I'm very glad he is alright...the bike can be replaced. It just seems like no one is teaching morals anymore or practicing them.
