Today at 3:45 p.m my sister passed away with her family and caregivers at her bedside.  She has struggled with this disease since 2009.  The past few weeks has been a really hard time for her. She had to gasp for air. Will miss her dearly.

Irene, just checked the main page for the first time in a while. My heart hurts for your loss. Sisters have a special place in our hearts. Your shared memories will bring you comfort in the coming days.   I pray that you feel God's love and strength surrounding you and your loved ones.

Irene, my friend Katherine's husband passed away a few months ago.  At his funeral his 2 son-in-laws took turns sharing funny stories about Charlie and his interaction with his 5 kids & the grandkids along with the son-in-laws.  I will say it was the best funeral I have ever attended as it was a celebration of his life instead of mourning his death.  Charlie was one of those people who never met a stranger and I know his funeral was just the way he would have wanted it to be.  Maybe something like this would be good for your sister too.

Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers.  The funeral is on Thurs. That will be a hard day but knowing she is not suffering anymore eases the pain. My cousin is doing the eulogy and wants any family member with stories of her, funny or serious so he can lighten the service up. She would love that, as she and I have been going back to our childhood lately laughing about things we did or said to each other.  It's just hard for me right now to comprehend she is gone. But knowing she was saved is comforting.
