Quilt With Us

I cleaned my sewing room today. I have more UFOs and projects that I want to start than I did at beginning of this year, The deal I made with myself was that I needed to finish 2 UFOs before I started 1 new project. It seemed like a fair deal. I tried to make myself follow my rules but I just plugged my ears (la la la)and did what ever I wanted. (Kind of the same thing I do when I try to diet.) I started lots of new projects, only finished a few UFOs and shopped like crazy. I don't have any room left to stuff projects in my sewing room. So now I am going to try to make my bad self finish at least 2 UFOs a month and not start any new projects until the end of the year. Wish me luck! LOL

You can always count on most quilters to have 2 things in common...love of fabrics (and stashes!) and
atleast 1 UFO. Maybe there should be a new reality show, "UFOs from Quiltland". We could see who could finish the most or who had the most to finish. The grand prize would be more projects to start (and finish sooner or later). Come to think of it, I'm already a contestant! Thank you for playing, now get to work! Good luck to all!

I love that I'm not the only person on the planet that needs to find a 12 step program for UFO's!! LOL...good luck Judy on your promise.....you can do it!! AND...maybe you'll inspire me to do the same!
Have a great evening all...and ABOVE ALL...Happy Quilting!!!

Judy, Are you counting the Sylvia's Bridal Sampler as one of your UFO's?

Are you interested in a challenge? I, too, set out this summer with a resolution that I would only work on UFO's this summer. I have a bargello quilt that I started last Spring that I have yet to finish - it's about half way done (the quilt top). How about we make a pact that I won't start anything new until you get one of your UFOs done and you can't start anything new until I get mine done. If interested, we can exchange pictures every week to document our progress (or lack thereof). I'm heading to Mankato to MN Vikings training camp this afternoon so I'll check in after I get back. If you're not up to this proposal - no biggie. I find sometimes the best way to get something done is to have to be accountable to someone. Maybe someone else is interested in this?

Good luck! At present I am working on a five piece ensemble for fall, and then I told myself I'd finish one of my UFO's before I started something new, at least anything big. I'm thinking if I do new small projects then I could go finish the big ones. Yeah right, it a vicious cyle. Did you watch the movie "Confessions of a shopaholic"? When she talked about the feelings of being in a store, I could identify with that in a quilt shop. I thought it was a cute movie.

Gee, this sounds like a time to start a "challenge". I join the rest of you in saying I have more UFO's then I have time to finish them and I keep starting new projects. AND I keep buying more fabic. Do they have "rehab" for shopaholics, and "stash-addics"? Finishing two UFO's a week sounds like a good idea. So if you don't hear from me I'll be at the sewing machine. lol

Are we related???? lol Seriously, I hear you. I think participating in this blog is quite inspirational though! Everytime I read about the projects everybody else is finishing, I know I have to get it together and get moving! In my case, I am unable to purchase anything new right now, which is probably a good thing, as it forces me to work on my other stuff. Good luck with your goals, I am cheering you on!

Wishing you luck and maybe a bit of the same for me too! I have also run out of room to stash anything new. Definitely time to finish some things and postpone buying for the immediate future. I thought I was contributing to the economy (don't laugh please). RT in Houston
