Quilt With Us

Our local civic museum has a call to entry for a show called Thread Works. The entries can be anything made with needle and thread and this years theme is trees. After much deliberation I thought why not just make a tree. Of course now that its almost done the doubts creep in LOL. I thread painted the trunk and have lots of leaf beads which don't show up so well in the pictures. The branches are pipe cleaners covered in yarn and I put pipe cleaner in the fence to make it bendable.(not so easy to quilt over). I added strips of sunrise sky and don't know if I should add tulle along the grass for morning mist. I haven't decided on the rising sun yet or where it should go. After all this work my DH shakes his head and says..."How do I know its a tree??"

It's a tree! Wish I were brave enough to try the "art quilt" route. You made a pretty and good looking fabric tree hard to believe your DH can't see it. I love all the different techniques that you included in the work.

I think it is lovely and adding tulle would look very cool! Wish I had your talent!
