National Quilting Day--what are you doing?

Happy National Quilting Day! I have walked the dogs and gone to the grocery store. Now the fun begins!

I am planning to work on the mystery quilt for the next book and start machine quilting a lap/wheelchair quilt and watch basketball--my team is Xavier--go Musketeers!

And put some stitches in my white on white hand quilting project. I try to do some every evening while DH is watching TV. The combination of NCAA basketball tournament and newly adopted dog is working against me--poor little Ocho wants to snuggle.

I know this post is late, but on Nat'l Quilting Day I was machine quilting the lap quilt (I posted pics of it last Tuesday).  Today I'm planning on digging out the fabric/pieces of a quilt I started for our bed, let's see.... last August, and work on that project.

Okay, PQ, you have the best reason to skip quilting!

I did get to Skype with DGS who turned 4 yesterday and watched him open his presents from us. Super hero tee shirts for our little super hero. His little sister got her hands on a piece of wrapping paper. It's not as good as being there in person but still pretty amazing!

I was playing with the grandson.  Heaven!

Oh, the weather--total wildness. Today it's supposed to be 60 degrees, warm for us. Snow maybe Wednesday. My poor bulbs and perennials are so confused. I've told them this is too early but they're not listening.

I'm planning my next project while I'm swimming in the pool. We have two weeks left before heading back. It's snowing in Syracuse today! Don't want to see that when we get there.

I was doing some hand sewing of a binding for my quilt for our local guild show that is coming up soon. Plus I cut out some blocks ( which I hate to do) and was trying to take apart and fix another

2 BFF's and I also attended a quilt show today, about 1-1/2 hours away.  Lotsa fun!  Stopped by two quilt shops and a garden center and a lavender farm on the way back!  Managed to keep the vendor spending under control:  One small basket; a package of new japanese applique needles; 3 bars of lavender soap; and six half-yard cuts of a line of fabric (on sale, of course) that I couldn't pass up. ( I was getting weak there at the end!)  Where's the wine??

We had two quilt shows in our area this weekend. DH and I intended go to both of them but after the first I said I said I was ready to go home. The second show was over two hours away and I just didn't have 4 more hours of travel in me. Fortunately, the first show was excellent with an antique bed turning of 43 quilts. I love the old quilts!

I started working on a lone star quilt block this morning.  This afternoon hubby & I went to Columbia to run some errands.  Made sure I stopped in to visit my favorite LQS while there.  The weather is gorgeous, but unfortunately I am now dealing with a severe headache due to my allergies.  When they are this bad I even get a stiff neck!  I have decided to see if my ins co will authorize me to see an allergist.

I spent the day at our monthly sit and sew. It was a small crowd today as spring break is next week. We have a couple teachers and they left Friday for warmer weather! I'm jealous!

I worked on a small wall hanging I got at my last trip to my local quilt shop. Hopefully I will get it finished tomorrow. My sewing time is limited as I will be busy with customer quilts.

We will be watching the games tonight as well. My bracket is broke but hope the Jayhawks will keep it together somewhat. ROCK CHALK JAYHAWKS!
