Quilt With Us

We went off to Denver to a wedding last week. Got home last night and realized when I unpacked that I lost my little box of jewelry. I assume I left it in the hotel room. I am waiting to hear back from the hotel. Sick at heart.

The necklace was given to me by my dad's mom. She had next to nothing and had the stone from her ring set with others into a heart. She gave it to me for my sixteenth birthday. I was planning to give it to my granddaughter on hers.

The ring was from my mom's mom. I planned to give it to my older son when he finds someone he wants to give it to.

The earrings are replaceable but I'd rather just get them back.

Please send mojo.

Prayers coming your way.  BJ is right.  No one can take the memories from you.  Do hope you find your jewelry.  Or get it back.

Thank you all for your sympathy.

BJ, I'm feeling worse about what happened to you than to me--both events.

There are good people out there. Let' s hope one of them finds your precious jewelry.

Someone's karma will be off for that injustice!

I hope they work at getting them back to you when they realize what they did.

I am so sorry. I know much of how you feel. About 20 years ago our house was broken into and all my jewelry, among other things, were taken. It included my wedding rings as they were too small and need re-sizing, a special gold cross from my grandparents from when they lived in Alaska (before it became a state), my baby ring, many special pieces that DH got me over the years, and some special items from my other grandparents.  Fast forward... I was to get Mom's wedding ring, which was a band that had her diamond from her original engagement ring in it. Dad got it in New York and jewelers said it was a very top notch diamond.  Mom's knuckles have been swollen from arthritis, so we could not remove it before moving her to the dementia care facility. Periodically I would check to see if I could get it off and it would not come off.  Well, "someone" found a way to get it off and it is gone. I was very sad as it was something special of mom's that I was really looking forward to.  At least no one can share my memories of her!

Thank you all for your encouragement but the prognosis is very bad. I have filed a crime report but the department with jurisdiction says on the report--"Due to the nature of this type of report, no further investigation is anticipated."

I sure hope you get it back!

Oh, Barbara.  That is so disheartening.  I hope it turns up soon.
