Quilt With Us

Need to get my quilting mojo back...

We have been traveling the past week. Decided to drive to Halifax, NS via VT, NH, and Maine. We decided that many people miss out on the colors of Spring with the different trees leafing. The coast line of Maine was special. We stopped in Kennebunkport for lunch and picked out our fictious house on the sound! If only....

We stopped in Freeport at the LL Bean place and did a little shopping. Was surprised that they are open 24 hrs. We had lunch in Belfast down on the wharf where they unload the lobster boats and separate the sizes. Then ship them off to various places. In the corner, they have a lunch counter and you order a dinner, they steam it , and you eat out on the deck. We were the only ones there so the guys gave us a special tour and lecture. It doesn't get busy until Memorial weekend. Some of the resorts were still closed, but nice for us to cruise on through. We spent the day and night in Bar Harbor. Cadillac Mt. in Acadia is the highest peak on the East coast. Luckily, it was not foggy. We were going to stop and see Irene, but had to take off late at night to fill in for a guest speaker that got sick. Didn't think she wanted visitors at midnight!

Halifax was wonderful...lots of history and nicest people ever. We had a great time shopping and going to local hangouts.

Hope this finds everyone busy with gardens, flower planting, and of course quilting. Want to make two twin quilts for the guest room at the lake.

Lobster is a favorite and it looks so delicious. So glad that you had a fabulous trip and posted the pictures. It's always so much fun to get away for any reason and enjoy what each day brings. Bet that Lobster was awesome!!!!!

I am glad to hear you have been traveling and eating delicious lobster. I was afraid you had succumbed to the powerful aromas coming from your refrigerator. We were in Maine several years ago and loved it. We had fresh snow on the mountains when we got up this morning. They looked gorgeous.

Sounds like a fun trip!
We're supposed to get snow tomorrow - can you believe it? Every day an adventure...

Sounds like a fabulous trip.  I love taking trips where I don't have specific destinations all planned out.  Quite often those end up being the most fun.

I'm glad you had a great trip.  Would love to have met you in person, but one never knows when we start on a trip where it will take us or how long we will be at anyone place.
