Went to see DD this evening. She is doing as well as could be expected with her new ailment.
DD worked at the same hospital last year before getting her degree in medical billing. She was a CNA, and knows most of the people who are now waiting on her. She is not a good patient. Always uncomfortable, lower back pains and not use to just sitting around. They give her plenty to drink and apparently it comes out several times a night which means someone has to help her out and back into bed. The problem here is that she had to tell them how to move her. I guess her patience was getting a little short with a few of the girls that just tried to pull her out of bed and just dump her back in. She says that they are asigning her CNA's that she can work with.
They were going to do surgery this evening to put a filter in the vein to keep the clot from moving. DD kind of freeked out on that one. They were going to numb her at the site of the incision for the procedure but she wanted to be completly knocked out. I tried to asure her that she wouldn't feel much if anything but nothing would calm her down. They decided that with any other 27 yr old that they wouldn't put the filter in so they are not going to give her one.
They did figure out why finally that this happened. Her uterus shifted and cut off the vein. There isn't anything that she could have done to prevent it, besides not having the baby. Once again DD has blamed the baby for her troubles! Poor guy isn't even born yet and he's already carrying a load on his shoulders.
DSIL has been with her most of the day and attending to her with a great deal of patience. DD doesn't do pregnancy well and doesn't do well at being sick either.
Before leaving she did tell me that they are going to induce labor as soon as they feel the little guy will be safe enough for delivery. I'm voting for Jan 23.
