Quilt With Us

Hi all -- I don't have anything sewing related to share, but I thought you'd like to meet my new friend who has been visiting my neighborhood. This is my first opportunity to get a picture, and now I see he's just getting antlers! I've learned this is a piebald deer.

Loved your deer photo! I looked it up and it is a genetic color variation, mostly impacting deer and horses. How amazing to see one up close. I’m guessing it’s a white tailed deer? Thanks for sharing!

Interesting looking deer.  It really isn't a good thing for him to feel that comfortable around humans though.

I'm with Pam, never seen that color deer. We have herds of them here in town and I think our deer are called White Tail. We are concerned about the ticks also.  They are a beautiful animal.

Pam, my DH doesn't like the deer in the yard because of the ticks. He always tries to scare them off. I told him I wanted to get a picture of this one, so he let me know when it was close by. It's actually in my backyard neighbor's yard. I got right up to my hedgerow to get this picture. I managed to get a short video too, but then he started to relieve himself so I gave him his dignity and stopped . . .  :o)

Have never seen a deer with that kind of markings. We have too many in our area. People aren'y hunting like they use to. Lime disease is getting out of control because of the ticks.
