Quilt With Us

OK, well, not technically. My momma gerbil, Fifi, had 3 babies last week. They join their 3 older siblings and are doing great. One is such an explorer and Fifi is always tracking him down and dragging him back to the nest....lol. And I thought Pepe and Fifi were too old to be having any more babies - just goes to show what I know! Guess I need to change my profile numbers yet again.

Friends came to help this week and we tore up the nasty basement carpet, padding, and sealed/painted the basement floor. Since it had quite the fumes and the A/C would circulate the smell throughout the house, all the birds had to be moved to my front porch, the largest kitty litter had to be moved upstairs (to the kitchen - yuch), and the dogs have been outside since Tuesday. Today I finished painting the laundry room aka kitty litter room, and the walls. Will be ready for new carpet next week, and then I can move the daybed downstairs, along with one of my sewing machines. Am very excited to set up a sewing corner in the coolest room in the house...LOL.

No small mammals for us since our dog would consider them to be dessert.

Suzanne, thought you were going to share some pictures of your new babies. Would love to see them.

I love hearing about your "extended family". Sounds like you need to rename Pepe and Fifi to Zechariah an Elizabeth - LOL
How fun getting to sew in a new and cooler space in your house. That will be wonderful for you! I considered having my space in the basement, but I so love having a big window to look out of when I sew. Always trade-offs. We love sleeping in the basement, however.

I was recently watching baby gerbils and hamsters at the farm store, it was hard to resist them - but I did! I'd love to see some pics, hint hint. Good thinking on moving the birds. You've been working HARD, you deserve to sew in the coolest room! Hope to see that too?

Congratulations on the newly renewed basement. I think it would be great to have a cool room in the house to have for all my sewing supplies. Since we received the last electric bill my DH has run the thermostat up to 75*or above. Me, the old lady with the unwanted sweats don't like it at all.
