Hi everyone!
First... can you believe it, our Miss Bailey is 9 years old today!
The memorial service for my husband was on Groundhog's Day. He loved that movie and his tradition was to watch it over and over all day long. I'm so thankful it was that day as the following weekend we had snow and more snow, and then more snow. The service was wonderful. He had most of it planned before he died, so all the music was of his choosing and the scripture that the message was based on, was what he chose. A couple of his childhood friends came, the gal who sang at our wedding 46 years ago, people from the church we went to when we lived in Oregon, 15+ years ago now, plus family, and Ranch, church and community friends. It was so heart warming to hear how my dear husband touched so many lives... our kids, the Ranch boys, his brother, and so many others.
I'm finding my new 'normal' in life. I'm adjusting enough to where I finally have energy to do some sewing, etc. after I get off work (and take a bit of a rest). I'm working on my Bob Ross Art Quilt challenge piece. Here's an 'in progress' pic. This is the background and middle ground layers. I am now doing some thread painting on it. The foreground will be leaves, lots of leaves... on the limbs and many fallen on the ground as it is an autumn picture.
Thank you all for your great support. I know I'm not on here much any more, but I feel your love and care and support and it means a lot.
Blessings to you all! BJ

The memorial service sounds perfect. It's wonderful that your husband was able to have so much input. Our DIL did the same before she passed, and it was so moving for family and friends. Miss Bailey is growing up quickly! I hope you post a picture of the Bob Ross Art Quilt when it is finished. I have always admired your art quilts with all that beautiful thread painting.
Thank you for updating us...your husband's service sounded so special. New normal is never easy to reach...but, you have a great start!
Good to hear from you, BJ. Will continue to remember you in prayer as you walk this new normal journey. What a nice way to honor your husband - incorporating your love of art quilts and memories of him.
I am so glad to see your post. I can't believe Miss Bailey is already 9. Time does fly by. It sounds like you had a lovely service and are working your way into the "new normal". Prayers continue.
Cat Lady -- yes, I'm doing the Cherrywood Challenge. It was my Christmas gift from my husband. I am dedicating it to him.
It is nice to see a post from you BJ. Your husband's memorial service sounds like it was the perfect tribute to him. Miss Bailey is growing up so fast. Can't believe it has been 9 yrs already.
So glad to hear you are doing well, adjusting can take time. Is that part of the Cherrywood challenge?
Thank you for posting, BJ. I do think of you and remember your lovely art pieces! Best wishes for the future - you do deserve the best.
I think of you often, BJ. Thanks for letting us know how you’re doing. Daphne will be 9 in May, so I knew Bailey would be 9. Good luck finding your way to a positive future. You deserve the best.
