Quilt With Us

Hi Everyone,

Since I haven't written a blog post in a long while I thought I would put something up. I added a list of completed and uncompleted projects to my page. It is nice to see it written down all in one place.

I finally got True Blue all quilted and binding on. I quilted it on my regular sewing machine and boy was that a bear. It turned out really nice so I can't complain though it really has pushed me to look into getting a long arm machine since it appears the completed tops are piling up.

We started a new quilt guild here in Marshalltown in June and currently have over 35 members. YAY!!!! That is pretty exciting. It is called The Central Iowa Quilt Sew-ciety.

My husband is driving OTR trucking so I see him about once a month for about 3 days so it's nice to have all my new quilty friends in the guild. Needless to say, with him gone I sure get a lot of sewing done and that is nice too.

My youngest daughter just found out this week that they are pregnant again. YAY!!! Their little boy will be one year old next month so they are pretty excited. My son and his long-time girlfriend finally got married on July 4 this month. YAY!!! They already have one child, my granddaugher Areigna. She is 6 y/o. They want to have more children too. :) My oldest daughter and her husband have a little boy and he will be 2 in Dec.

Then my husbands youngest daughter is due soon with her second child. They have a little boy that just turned 3 this month. His oldest daughter is engaged and they are planning a wedding for fall of 2011.

As you can see I stay pretty busy. :)

My dogs, Dahli and Winston are my constant companions.

I try to visit my Mom as often as I can. She lives about 1.5 hours from me.

That's my update. I hope that all of you who read this have a wonderful and productive (sewing-wise that is) year.

Nancy, sounds like you are going to be one busy Grandma if you are quilting for them all. I love the name of your new guild.

I like your organization. You have definitely been busy. You must have a great sense of accomplishment for all the work you have completed.
