Hi everybody! I have two quick updates about some Quilt With Us website features.
First, there's now a little "Status" bar at the top of your "My Page." This lets you tell folks what you're up to - it functions similarly to the status updates on Facebook. You don't have to use it, but it's a nice way to let other QWU members know what you're in the middle of. You could type something like "At work, can't talk," leave a little note that you've "Finally finished my huge quilting project - yay!," or anything else you'd like to share.
The second new feature is a chat function! You can access the chat in the lower-right bar of your internet browser. Clicking on the icon with the person-and-red/green-dot will connect or disconnect you from chat. If you disconnect yourself from chat, you won't see any activity in the chat window. Clicking on the little triangle with a line above it will minimize/maximize the chat window so you can see it (or hide it, if you're not interested in chatting). The little double-rectangle icon allows you to pop out a new chat window that's independent of your main browser window.
Once you're in chat, you'll have the option to either talk with folks in the main chat room, or you can click on an online member's profile pic (this is in the right sidebar of the chat window) and choose "private chat" to have a one-on-one conversation with another QWU member.
