Quilt With Us

Happy New Year to everyone. Hope everyone had a good holiday season. now time for a new year. hopefully this one will be better for me than last year.  Although it isn't starting out too good weather wise. so cold out so this is a good thing for us  quilters to stay inside and sew or quilt or do some crafty thing with fabric.

What is your resolution for this year? I have a few.. one is I am looking to get a newer machine one that has more stitches than the one I have right now.Hoping to find me one that has a embroidery machine built in. then I can give the machines I have now to my granddaughter. also I am not going to be in too many swaps this year. I learned from last year. but I do plan on staying ahead of myself when I am in a swap. get things done in that first weekend so I don't run into any issues if I have any health setbacks.

I also want to finish my DDIL2 signature wall hanging although she keeps changing her mind from a quilt to a wall hanging and back to a quilt. well I am just going to make her a wall hanging,.  also to get caught up with some of my UFOs. finish up some blankets I am making and not start a new project till I get at least half of these UFOs done... LOL

well I hope all of you are keeping warm and safe and toasty. take care

big hugs to everyone

Lisa, I hope 2014 is a great year for you.  After all of your health issues last year, you deserve a break.  It is very cold here in Mid-Missouri, but we are just staying in doors.  I never thought I would see the day when I would see blocks of ice floating down the MIssouri River, which is just down the hill from my house!

I bought a mid-arm Viking machine two years ago from Joann Fabrics...I talked with the manager of the dept. and asked her to put name on a call list. They have weekend demo seminars and then sell the machines at discounted prices. Mine was used 6 hours. It only took a few months for them to call. I got it for half off. Just a thought. I would love an embroidery machine, but wouldn't use it enough to justify the cost. Good luck!

Happy New year to you too Lisa! Hope you find your new machine.  Those embroidery machines can do some amazing work but a little too expensive for me.
