Quilt With Us

Here in MI we have been having pretty good weather and we have still been getting our walks in. Snow moving in today with cold winds.

Haven't posted in sometime.  Our quilt group has been busy since Sept and I am trying to use up 3 boxes of scraps.  Made 5 baby quilts for the VA hospital in Nov. They have an annual baby shower for vets that have returned from service.  Finished a single size scrappy for an orphanage, they requested 10 for the home and we cut and made 11 in our group.  Made two Mandala hangings for our bazaar sale but they did not sell.

Have finished and sent off 3 crib quilts for hospitals and in progress are 7 scrappy tops.  Have 3 quilted and waiting for binding and have cut large squares to make backings. Will work on those this week during the snowy mornings.

We had a great Christmas with our youngest DD & DSIL.  I made them a queen size scrappy of sawtooth  stars with scrappy back.  They have 3 dogs & 3 cats that are often on the bed and DD did not want to spoil her special quilt.  DSIL claims this quilt is his and wanted a single size for the couch, so DD and I cut scraps for her to take home and make one.  It will probably come back here to get quilted as they do not have room for her frame and machine.  I find I really miss DD these past few years since they moved south, but at least it is only 7 hrs away.

So I keep busy with my quilting, reading, walking.  Time is flying bye far to rapidly but I am already looking for Spring.

Happy New Year to all

I wish you & your family a very Happy New Year Dawn.  It sounds like you are making great progress on depleting your pile of scraps.  I need to do the same.  My oldest daughter is getting remarried in March & I have been thinking of making her a scrappy quilt.  She will be moving from Appleton WI to a small town north of Minneapolis so a good warm quilt will still be needed.

Bravo!  You really have been busy.  Happy New Year to you!  And yes, an early spring would be appreciated.  I say that knowing sub-zero temps are moving this way again.
