Quilt With Us

After being in our house for almost 7 yrs I finally talked my husband in to painting my sewing room.  What a job, but I'm so happy with how it turned out.  This would normally be a living room, but has worked perfectly for a sewing room.  Next up is the kitchen, but I promised him I would let him finish redoing our deck first so it will probably be fall before that happens.

What a great space!  Looks bright and airy - just right for a creative mind.

Envy here. Not only a great room but the fresh paint looks great too. I do the painting in our family and I just can't drum up the energy to move everything and then paint.

When we first looked at this house 7 yrs ago I knew this was the room I wanted to use as a sewing room.  We live at the end of a cul de sac & it has been nice over the years to hear the neighbor kids playing outside while I sewed because of that big window.

That looks like a wonderful room to create in! I think formal living rooms are wasted unused space. Good for you to claim it. It's always a great time to weed out the stuff we have been shuffling around. I want to get my space redone this summer. Our son paints in the summer(teacher) so will hire him.

Carol, I know exactly what you mean about moving so much stuff out of the way in order to paint, etc., but it is so worth it in the end.  I had that large entertainment center in there where the cutting counter is, but then moved it in to the family room a couple of yrs ago.  I was never happy with it in that room so we decided to move it back here the quilt studio, but along the longer wall along with the 2 smaller cabinets & I like it much better.  All 3 of those cabinets are heavy as all get out so we were happy our 18 yr old grandson was here to help us move them.

Congratulations on getting the sewing room painted!  It looks so fresh!

Makes me want to do mine; it was DS's bedroom before he went off to college and the wilds of Alaska several years ago.  It still has his childhood choice of a wallpaper border -- frogs!  I'm still overwhelmed by the amount of "stuff" I would have to move out in order to paint.  Sigh.

Thanks Irene & PQ.  I am looking forward to spending many more hours in there.

Looks very nice, Janet!  A fresh coat of paint just makes a room feel "new" again.

Janet your sewing room is beautiful. Nice space with plenty of room.  I can see you spending lots of time in there.
