Quilt With Us

No quilts were harmed in this photoshoot & A Giveaway!

Don't worry no quilts got harmed (or dirty) during this photoshoot. There was a bug on it at one point but I shooed him off and told him to go find his own quilt. Melissa and I tramped out through the meadow next to our building to take this photo. It was a good afternoon break since we were having an unusual sun break and around here you have to take advantage of them when you can! Back to the topic - It was really fun making this little baby quilt. The Quick 'n Easy Color Block Quilt is a pretty simple pattern that comes with a 4-1/2" ruler. The kit would make a great gift for a beginner. I've been feeling a strange attraction to bright fabric these days and I'm not sure where it's coming from but I've made several projects out of the Bold samplers and this one uses the stack. It was fun to play with the fabric arrangement and this time rather than random I decided to make a gradation and I'm really happy with it. To keep the cost down even further I decided to sew it Quilt as you Go. My new group Fast & Furious has made me look at every project I do and see if I can figure out a way to make it Quilt as You Go, it's like a challenge now :) Karen and I made a Quilt As You Go Video for those of you who haven't done this method before, watch out it's addictive!

As part of our "summer of samplers", one lucky commenter can win the Bold Stack featured in this post. Simply leave a comment by 7/7/10, and I will draw the name of one lucky winner using a random number generator. Good Luck!

I love the bright colors and the quilt as you go method. I have been thinking about trying quilt as you go watched Eleanor Burns TV show she did a whole quilt but I think I will try your way to start. Thanks for the video glad I found it on FaceBook.

Thank you for a great way to quilt as you go. I've only done a table runner in the chevron pattern. Nice to have different ways to do it! :)

Love, love, love the bright colors. Those are the ones I am always attracted to first. This quilt makes me think of sunshine, the beach (which is close to where I live), and good times.

I've also gotten hooked on the bold colors! Don't know why, they just seem to say take me home louder than the other fabrics. Just as soon as i get my purse made i want to try the quilt as you go.
