Quilt With Us

For the last 2 day we have had a Nor'easter (east coast) rain, rain, rain and more rain. Windy too, gusts up to 50 miles per hr. Thank God we are in a no flood zone, Va. Beach is a mess and I guess all the water communities are flooded. I can't get any TV, but the electric is still on. I really don't mind the rain, I like to stay in and sew, made a Very Hungry Caterpillar quilt today and found out I am 1/2 yd short of the circle fabric, I ordered a kit a few months ago, so I guess I will have to order more fabric. When I get off the computer I am going to go read. Two of my favorite things: sewing and reading, baking comes next, but don't need the calories.
The storm may be letting up tomorrow, but still think we will get rain till Saturday. HOPE THE ELECTRIC STAYS ON.

I've followed some of that storm on the TV -- wow! Glad you have kept your electricity so far and are safe and sound.

Hi Patricia, I can sympathize with you about this weather system! I am in eastern NC and we have been dealing with it since Tuesday. It is still quite windy here, and about 40 degrees, though thankfully, the rain has finally stopped! We vacation a lot in Kill Devil Hills, NC out on the coast, and they took a pretty bad hit, Highway 12 has been washing over for 2 days, it's a mess. Our electric went out a few times Wed. night, but the worst is over. Hoping to see sun this afternoon ;) Hope your electric stays on and you get to sew! Stay dry!

Good morning Patricia, I have been watching on the news about your torrential rains. I'm glad your not near the flood zones and still have your power. Losing power in this day and age really cripples us. About the only thing I can do is play my piano when I lose my power. If it's day light I can read. It's times like that I have to stop and thank the Lord for all the things we take for granted. I love sewing on a rainy or snowy day. It seems so cosy. I expect we will get some heavy rains if that storm makes it's way up the coast. Have a great day.

We'd probably get the remnants of the rain here in NH, but better that than snow. Happy reading.
