Quilt With Us

I understand it is supposed to be a great night to witness the magic of the Northern Lights in the northern and central areas. Sorry, Atlanta. So, shortly after dark tonight I'll be checking for them here. We are between storm systems and I'm hoping it won't be too cloudy. Otherwise, I'll be occupied with writing, quilting and keeping an eye on DH who had shoulder surgery yesterday.

Compassion all gone here. Honestly, if it were a woman, we'd still be doing everything we do now except hand quilting and a few two handed jobs. This was not a "big surgery". I think he and the TV remote are spending too much time together.

Late to the party, as usual.  Hope DH's recovery is going well.  I don't know how it is at your house, but at mine, surviving the surgery is the easy part.  The tricky part is surviving the recovery...with his wife...at home...

Compassion sometimes runs a little thin at this house after so long.  ;)

Which brings to mind this story:  My folks were considering taking out rest home insurance a few years back.  I told them they wouldn't need rest home insurance, because I felt it was my privilege to care for them when the time came.  Apparently that must have seemed more a threat than reassurance, because it didn't take them long to sign on the dotted line...

Been traveling, glad to hear that your hubby did well. We were in VT and it was too cloudy to see anything...

DH is fine. I was disappointed last night. The clouds built up and we had absolute darkness. No moon, no stars and certainly no Northern Lights.

Like you, Debbie, the wind is getting stronger here. We're supposed to have those extremely high winds later today. Oh, goody. That means I'll have to hang onto the storm door and shove with my hip to let the dogs into their yard. Wouldn't you know it faces due west and that's where the big winds come in from. The chain that's supposed to keep it from crashing into the wall, was ripped out of the door a few years ago by the wind.

Wow... I hadn't heard that.  Been busy trying to keep a tech from laughing himself to death.  Since we are so far north, there may be a chance but we are due to have really high winds here.  Wind gusts to 65 mph. I may not want to stick my head out the front door.  BJ's right... it's really cloudy here too.  She and I are about 2 hrs from each other.  Poor DH... I've heard shoulder surgery can be a real tough one. A little TLC never hurts.

I think we're too overcast here to see them.

Hope your DH recovers well. Does he have an ice therapy machine to use?  That made a HUGE difference in my DH's recovery from his shoulder surgery. Make sure he doesn't push things faster than they should and to get the PT.  It will be better ... just takes time.

Hope DH is doing well after his shoulder surgery.

Heard about possibility of seeing Northern Lights tonight.  I may be too far south, weatherman said better chance of seeing them in Northern New England.  I'll check it out too-would be cool to see.

I will be in my sewing room all wrapped up with my quilts; who'd want to go out in the frigid temp to watch the sky?  40 years ago, I would have;  I have seen a few of these in my youth and yes, they're fabulous.

I hope your DH's surgery went well.
