Quilt With Us

. . .I kinda wish I had taken the chance and entered it even though it was not finished when entries were due.  I made this one up from the memory of a block I had seen up on a design wall at the last retreat.  It was in purple and pink, with white, and somehow it attracted my attention.  I looked in my "stash" and came up with this version.

I hate wasting fabric to fussy cut, but it seemed worth it to center the roses in the block.  It is called "Roses in the Midnight Garden."

Love the sashing, the fussy cut roses, and the colors -- guess I just love your quilt!

I love the quilt! Yes, you needed to do the fussy cutting!

No, Carol Ann, I'm not writing Regency. (at least not for a while. Maybe I'll have to think about it.) No. I need more TIME not more WORK!

It is beautiful Carol Ann.  You were smart to center those roses as they look great.

PQ,  Ooooh, yeah.  Perhaps Barbara Graham can come up with a Regency Era murder mystery!

I think the sashing design is known as "goose in the pond".  It's one of my favorites, and I have used it several times.

Beautiful!  I really like the triple sashing and the 9-patch cornerstones, as well as the red/pink? solid piping separating the inner and outer borders.  You  know just how to add just the right thing to make those quilts extra special, Carol Ann.  For some reason the name makes me think of Regency Era England.   Wouldn't it make a great book title?

That is a very pretty quilt. The roses in the center really set it off!
