Quilt With Us

I'm ready to add sashing to a crib quilt I'm making. Got the squares pinned up on the design wall; stuck both options for the sashing behind/between some of them but can't decide which one works best. DH says "Red" (his fav. color) and I say "Blue" (my fav. color) lol so I'm going to need some more opinions. HELP!

cute as usual I hope you put on a red binding makes lots of character.

I don't know what the backing fabric will be yet... it will depend on whether I keep it or give it as a 'charity' quilt. If it's to be a charity quilt, I will get the batting and backing from the guild I belong to, and it will be white muslin. If I keep it, I haven't decided what I'll use.
P.S. I didn't mention earlier, but I didn't fasten down the blue edging of the little blocks which are appliqued down- thought I would snip them so that they'll 'fringe' and give a little more texture to the quilt.

I like the blue. That would have been my choice too and I think doing a red binding will be great. What is the backing fabric, you didn't tell us?

I like the blue. I think I would use blue for the binding also. I think to many colors take away form the quilt. I always like my binding to blend in with the last boarder on the quilt but that's just me. Have a great 4th.

Sunshine, love your quilt. I would have went with blue too unless as Nanny Gayle said red and blue but I really think the blue looks the best. Yes, I would go with a border of red. It is just so cute. Love it. Looking forward to seeing the end result.

the top is completed; I tried taking a pic but my camera wouldn't work... have a new battery pack charging now in the hopes that I'll be able to take a pic in the morning. Right now, I'm considering using the red for the binding - that could change by the time I'm ready to put it on.

Blue is most certainly the right choice, it brings out the other colours and everything melds together beautifully. I look forward to seeing the finished product.
