Quilt With Us

I haven't crocheted in 25 yrs. but with you tube, it is easy to refresh your skills. I wanted to make, my friend who will be going through chemo and was told she will lose her hair, a couple of cute alpaca hats. I really enjoyed making them and may start another crochet project in the future. My grandmother was the 1955 National Crochet Champion so maybe I have her gene!!!  lol

Way to go!  The hats are super cute.  I keep trying to brush up on some knitting skills, but it's always 1 step forward and 2 back for me, so I am in admiration of your skills right now ☺.

Darling hats, Pam!  Alpaca wool is so soft, and newly bald heads are so sensitive.  Good choice.

Pam - what a thoughtful, beautiful gesture.  She will love them!  The look so soft and stylish.  I believe you do have her championship crocheting gene!

My niece, who is a L & D nurse wanted to learn to crochet at Christmas.  It was fun sitting down with her and helping her brush up on some skills (she already had the basics).  She wants to make little beanies for the babies in the nursery.  Not long afterward, she posted a picture of her teaching other nurses how to crochet.  I said, "Ah, I see.  Watch one, do one, teach one."    That's what they tell surgeons, right?  :D

Great hats (and for a good cause)! Maybe you might suggest crocheting being added to the winter Olympics. You'd win a gold medal.

Those are lovely, and what a thoughtful gift. Your friend will definitely wear them with pride and appreciate how warm they are.

Beautiful!  She will surely love these.  Keep up the crocheting.

You did a wonderful job making these hats and the flowers are so cute on them. She'll love them and wear them with pride, while keeping her head warm. With your grandmother's genes, you'll be sure to do another project.

Those are really pretty & the flowers really add a lot of jazz to them.  That is cool about your grandmother being a national champion.  I prefer to knit, but I do like to crochet as well.
