I must have been working on this particular quilt for nearly 20 years! It was a Block of the Month before those became so popular, and I was assured that as a newbie quilter, it was well within my skills! WRONG! I did finally get it together, layered and basted, planning to quilt it on my domestic machine. Well, that was a horrible idea! I had no such skills!
Think the next several years spending time folded up in a drawer, while your maker slowly improves her domestic machine quilting. Meanwhile your maker has discovered paying a LAQ to do most of her projects (I have more ideas than I have time!) I finally pulled the poor thing out and vowed to finish! It took more than 3 months (notice the Christmas design?), but it's done.
As a newbie quilter, I had made several mistakes that I would not do now! My fabric choices leave something to be desired, mostly in quality. At that time I didn't understand the pitfalls of cheaper fabric, even when you really liked the color! So, quilting friends, here it is:

This is absolutely gorgeous!! Am sure you will enjoy it much during the Christmas season. I have a quilt pattern with the look of a fireplace - stockings and all. Have always wanted to do - probably will not - but I look at it most every Christmas and dream!!
I love it! And I don't think it's dated at all. What a fun Christmas quilt.
O how cute! Love the snow man. Makes me want to get busy with the kit I bought after Christmas.
I think it's wonderful. I think anything Christmas is happy and colorful. I hear what your saying about using cheap fabric. Once you have used the good fabrics you never go back. You did a great job and congratulation on finishing this lovely quilt.
i love it. not dated at all. still lots of that type around...floral, scenic, and christmas! love the wonky tree!
It looks wonderful. Good for you for completing it.
Isn't it interesting how styles and tastes change over time?
Done is better than perfect! Congratulations on getting it finished. It is wonderful.
Great quilt! The snowman with the missing head makes me laugh...along with your ferocious nutcracker. This is too cute to be tucked into a drawer. Way to go!
To me it looks a little "dated." But what do I expect after 20 years?? I think the ferocious soldier/ nutcracker in the center bottom block could have been replaced -- just one of the several things I'd do differently now!
