Thank you all for your condolences on my mother's passing, and your good wishes for my health. I escaped from the hospital at 1:30 on the day of the wake, and the calling hours started at 4:00! The next day was a simple burial and a gathering at my brother's house, about four houses down from mine. That was good because I was able to go home when I needed to, and I wasn't hosting. After a few days I went back to work (right now my job is pleasant and low stress). But I found that just doing a few of my basic chores at home exhausted me! Then every evening I would get chills and my temp would go up. Tylenol would bring the temp down, but my cough would also be much worse. 3 times I have passed out and vomited when I felt so bad. So, now I am sampling a different hospital, came in on Wednesday. So far, I don't have flu or pneumonia. As the doctor says, "all of the puzzle pieces are not fitting together." And, to top it all off, when I passed out on Wednesday I fractured my ankle. They say it's a "minor" fracture, compounded by a sprain. I now have a boot/brace, and am grateful to have it. Boot and I will be together for 4-6 weeks.
I am so glad that I was able to get Miss McGee's costume done for her. It's comforting to have your support. Bless you my friends!
