One day at a time.... we will overcome

Hello everyone,

Its been a while since I blogged but wanted to stop in and say hello. First I would like to say I see that alot of you are going through trials with health issues with yourselves or family members, well you are not alone! God is there and he is watching over you and will be with you through the test of time. I have been reading a book on adversity and why it comes as well how we are to handle it when it does. I will say that I have been in my own test and trial this last week with my oldest son Brock (20 yrs old). I think I mentioned that he has syncope and recently in August we found out he also has sinus tachycardia. They started treating it with a beta blocker.. He started on a 30 day heart monitor a week ago and Tuesday morning he had an episode and almost passed out here at home. We took him back in the heart doctor that day and they stopped him from driving and can't return to college until further notice. He said we would have to see the heart physiologist and may have to do a heart catheter and may need a pacemaker. I was truly scared at the thought of my son having to go through that at his age. We immediately began praying and asking others to pray for him and the next day we saw the heart physiologist and she said no heart cath and no pacemaker!!! I give God the glory for that!!! We will do a tilt table test on this upcoming thursday and she has started another new med and he has to increase the fluids and take salt tablets. So we are still in prayer over this and are praying for a full recovery! She said she needed at least a month to stabilize him out and then he could start returning to his life. He is emotionally down right now because he feels like the doctors are taking his life away, but as we keep telling him its only temporary! So my point to all of you is... I know we get blindsided by the test and trials that come against us, but God is trying to get us to look at him, not our situation. To lean on him and to trust him not our understanding. I know we all get our faith a little shaken during these times but God knows we are human, so pray about everything. Trust and rest in him and we will all stand the test of time!!! You all are in my prayers!!!

Well while I am taking one day at a time.. I am going to get back to the sewing room and make some progress and take some of this nervous energy and put it to good use. I have alot to do! Take care and would love to hear from some of you!!!

What a wonderful attitude! Poor Brock - it's tough to go through such trials but he is so blessed that the problem is being recognized and treated. In the end, he will be glad it was taken care of now. Blessings and prayers to your whole family!

Sharon, thanks for sharing this!!! You are so on point with your point that God is trying to get us to look to Him and not our situations. Your testimony is for all of us. I love you girl, give Brock a hug from me!!!

You are so right -- there are a lot of health issues and other challenges going on right now. I'm sure it is hard for a 20 year old to go through what your son is having to go through. Life for them is in the moment, but he is going to have a life with getting his situation under control and cared for.
I'm glad you have put yourself into God's hands and seek Him first. That's where my help and comfort come from and He is why I can get through the situations and trials that come my way.

You are in our thougts and prayers! Your son will get back to a normal life, you all just need to keep your chins up and hearts open. You know you have friends in all of us here at QWU. I know just being able to let out the feelings to others helps, as it helped me deal with family issues this summer.

Sharon, we will be praying for your son that all will go well and he will be back to a normal life. It gets us older ones down sometime when we cannot do what we want so if it would have happened to us 40 years ago, I think we would be down too. Give him a hug for me and you take care of yourself too and God will lead in that situation and we will leave it up to Him.

I will keep your family and son in thoughts and prayers. He is young to have to deal with this. Stay strong mom...
