Quilt With Us

One day I will learn when to say when!?

In our last episode I reported that I had gotten sunflower seeds from grandson.  I now have a play date (Thursday) with Aiden and Lucas.  DD called yesterday and put Aiden on the phone.  I had just gotten off work and wanted to go home and put the feet up for a bit.  Dear little guy wanted grandma to come over and play.  I made a date with him for Thursday.

I now have time for this sense my  moms house is now finished and up for sale.  Personal cost for this endeavor, endless stress dealing with work family and the house.  Some where in the middle of all that I also threw out my back.  Don't ask me how, I just blame it on old age!  The pain from that was bad enough but I also couldn't take time off work or stop working on the house.  I suffered through it all.  My boss went on vacation, an Alaska cruse no less.  So I never said a word about the back because I knew the guy would cancel his trip.  While he was away I did see a Chiropractor who managed to get part of my back lined up again but in the process my shoulder got messed up to the point where you can't move it and you can't sleep.

Yes I was foolish and continued to work and finish up the house with my brothers help.  Now boss is back at work the house is finished and I had vacation time.  What did I do for said vacation?  Took my house apart and started cleaning.  It was way past due.  My sewing room is so cluttered with things both mine and what use to belong to my mom that I was planning on giving to DD.  By the end of my vacation last week I had dug out the quilt that I was working on and sat here trying to figure out what it was that I wanted to do to it next.

It will come to me sooner or later.  I'm at that point where CRS isn't completely infused in my head.  so with any luck I should be able to find the cutting table and start working on the broken star quilt soon.

Ah, a play date with Aiden will help you feel better.  Do take care of your back and shoulder.  It is time to take care of all of you--including having some quilting time. (I really like Irene's suggestion)

Kathy, your the one who needs the Alaskan cruise.  Or better yet, shut all phones off, take all curtains off windows so people will think you moved and go hide in your sewing room.  Hope your shoulder get better soon.

What a glutton for punishment! Some time in your sewing room, and fun with the grands will be great therapy.  Get that shoulder checked out!  You would hate for it to get worse.

I know your pain...hubby was just diagnosed with spinal stenosis. He has been in so much pain. Those grandkids do make you forget about your whoes. Enjoy your play date! Can't wait to see your quilt. Your designs are always stunning.
