Quilt With Us

Only 6 months until my first grandchild.

I am so excited!! Looking for Ideas to sew for baby (they do not plan to find out what it is until it is born) I have had some wonderful quilters giving me some great ideas but am open to more. This website is my inspiration to get busy and sew. I need all the inspiration and help I can get from you. I am mostly self taught. My grandmother did teach me to crochet and basic sewing but she passed away 27 years ago when I was in my early 20's. I just started making quilts 3 years ago. I have never had a blog before...........I hope I am doing this right.........you would think I would know how to do this I work on a computer 40 hours a week at my job......which of course is why I do not get to sew as much as I want......

I have 7 grandkids and one on the way due in November. For each one of the babies I made them a quilt when they were born. The four youngest grandchildren still sleep with that quilt every night. When they come to visit Grandma, of course "blankie" comes with each of them. It's funny to watch them get anxious is one of the cousins accidentally picks up their blanket. I made them all the same, but in different colors. Well, you can imagine after hundreds of machine washes, they all tend to be the same faded color! The backing on the quilts is So Soft material with the bumpies on it. They just love that feel their blanket has. If you would like, I can scan the pattern and send it to you. Anyway, I think I could do that. NOt sure if I need an email address to send it to though. Let me know if you're interested. It's a real easy pattern to make.

I am really eager to try the "Pocket Parade" bag by Quilts Illustrated - it can be used as a baby bag, and I want to make one for a friend who is having a baby in a few months. I saw a sample in a store once & it was a great looking bag! And of course you have to do some kind of baby quilt. :-)

Congratulations!! It's such a wonderful feeling to know that baby is on the way.............. They are such a joy to us Grandparents!! Of course, the parents also, but it's really us that get to "enjoy" them as babies the most! I am sure whatever you make for this little guy or gal, it will be wonderful and well loved for years to come!
Have a super great day, it's Friday finally--------Friday! Yes I work also and I agree that is where to much of our time goes. There is so much else we would rather be doing!!
