Quilt With Us

I delivered the last of the face masks to the food bank this morning. I made 421! I absolutely ran out of fabric! It feels great to clear out some bins for a good cause. We opened the lake house this past weekend. Our weather has been crazy cold for this time of the year! Mother's Day will be quiet...too cold for a driveway visit! will have to zoom it. Wishing all a wonderful Mother's Day. Stay safe...but, get out there and take our life back.

I love your friend's little essay about the face masks. May I share it?

We met by Zoom yesterday. I'm so grateful for the technology. I can't imagine going through this without it!

We are close to our lake house...30 minutes! It was a snowy, windy weekend. We were able to clean everything and now are ready for summer! Unfortunately, probably won't have much company this summer. It will be good to see my swimming buddies everyday at 2pm. We can distance swim! I will be glad when the term social distancing is not used! I did not write the piece on sewing masks. Friend sent it to me. I am not making as many projects from scratch, so using up all my fabric was a great way to use it. I am hand quilting a quilt top I've had for years. Have two more that may end up machine quilted. It's almost time for flowers! Can't wait to get them in! Take care and keep stitching!

Wow, Pam, 421! That's wonderful. I enjoyed the mask story too. You are fortunate to have the lake house to escape to for a change in scenery. You get to go somewhere but still be "home." Is it close enough to your primary residence so you can go back and forth if you want?

I'll bet it feels good to empty the stash helping others.

We've been enjoying some warmer temps, but there is snow in the forecast for this week. We need the moisture, so I guess we won't complain.

I'm making face masks also. But not as many as some of you. I have to stop when alterations come in. But I'm enjoying using up small scraps of fabric. And if there is enough fabric left from the masks I cut into 2 1/2 in squares and some times 4 or 5 in squares. I'm not charging for the masks. I'm doing it as a community project.

Very generous donation of time and supplies!  Thank you for sharing.  The face mask piece was great. Not sure if you wrote it, or who it was, but well done.
