Quilt With Us

Okay, I think this covers most of the show. Some of the vendors in the corners can't be seen from the overhead window but you can get a good feeling on how big this place is. The booth numbers started at 100 and went to 2265, I think. We walked a lot of it today as most of the shop owners headed for home last night or early today. We weren't very busy with sales but I met some amazing people. Georgia the market/buyer of Fabic Depot, Ted, the co-owner of Clothworks and Blann Hancock of Hancocks of Paducah. I felt like a county bumpkin---out of my comfort zone with these big wigs standing in MY booth and discussing business. I wonder how or why they picked me out of my row when the other patterns designers had wonderful patterns and their booths were to die for. I feel so greatful that I have this opportunity and hope that I can meet the expectations ahead of me. I now get two days off...well sort of. I have a lot to do to get ready for festival. That's what I get for leaving it til the last minute. Well, it's off to bed for now. I just wanted to get these pictures up before I turned in. Thank your for allHave a great evening.

OPPS Just woke up and saw this on the computer.....I forgot to hit post. Sorry!

Debbie, I cannot add more to what has already been said. I don't think you will be able to get out of the MH as your head isn't going to fit through the door. No just kidding but you are one terrific person. I sure hope one day I get to meet you in person. You are unique and don't kid yourself about being out of your comfort zone. This is really your comfort zone just wait and see. Hugs to you!!

Debbie--your bird's eye photos of the vendors is great!!--you didn't mention the other half of the show--the quilts!! Thousands of them--some in competition and some in special exhibits--something special for everyone!! Glad to hear that the wholesale part of the show went so well--it's a perfect time for networking!! especially with all of the fabric companies. Now come the quilters and wantabees!!--the action really starts!! See you soon!!

Ditto to all the great things everyone has said here. Debbie, you're talented and you've worked hard to get where you are today and THAT's why the bigwhigs are stopping by your booth! Thanks for the pics - I miss going to market! Now I only go to Long Beach festival for my personal fulfillment, not for business...it's nearly as big!

Debbie, they picked you because your product fills a need that they are all familiar with. The quilting industry is well established and has become a multi million dollar giant. What the industry requires to continue to thrive is new quilters. Your patterns appeal to the newbie as well as to the experienced quilter that wants to make something quick but also very attractive. The newbie will see your patterns as "doable" and be drawn to quilting. And we all know what happens once you're hooked on quilting, that makes the Hancocks of the world possible. Rebecca

Fabulous! I am glad all is going well with you. You are so talented, you don't even know! Experts can see that, but you are so humble and loveable, they just flock to you! Congrats on your visitors and for doing an exceptional job with your space! Continue to have fun!

Oh Debbie, this show looks so wonderful!!! Something most of us could only dream of attending like you have. I am so happy for you. Again, I am confident that with your positive attitude and "drive", plus the support of your husband, you will succeed. And don't kid yourself about being out of your confort zone with the big wig.... they started just like you did. It's the enthusiasm and spark that you have that draws people ..... it a win/win situation. It's like a magnet.... keep it up girl! :-)

Oh my, how overwelming and excited you must be. Some day I hope I can go to a quilt show it is on my "to do list." Work always gets in the way. Maybe I can plan to go to SLC for a quilt show next year I think it is held in May..GOOD LUCK

So.... the first part of this event is open to just the "professionals in the business" and the other part is the open to the public? It's just so overwhelming with all those vendors - WOW! How great to have Fabric Depot (one of my must stops when I go to Portland), Clothworks and Hancocks of Paducah stop by to talk business! You well deserve it - your wonderful patterns as well as the great fabric choices you have done for your display, and then there is your great personality (move over Alex Anderson - LOL). I hope your two days "off" will allow for some relax time along with getting ready for Festival. You may be from the country, but believe me, Debbie, you are no bumpkin!
