I just may stay on vacation. I found out that I am suppose to work, not my usual shift of early morning, run on auto pilot and not think about how awful this job is, but three night shifts for the person that they were going to borrow to fill in. Lets do the math: I won't work on Wednesday which would be my monday so I would have to use a vacation day just to keep my hours for the week. that leaves three days vacation time IF I use the one day of vacation, and I don't want to because I want time off work bunched together. I would work shorter shifts filling in the night shifts so I would also lose another 5 hours time which they would fill in with my vacation time just to keep me at the hours I would get paid for so there goes another vacation day and I'm down to having two vacation days and a couple of hours that I would have to take off when they decide that I can. I doesn't seem worth it to me not to mention that it's totally unfair. This wasn't my fault and yet I'm paying the price for it. I can stay on vacation and say to heck with them. So if you are confused, so am I cause I just talked to one of my co-workers about all this and she said that she was doing the closing shift thursday, why do I have to be there???

I think I need not only a new job (I wish) but a new project to work on to get my mind off all this!!!!!! What can I order this time??????

I'm with Stephanie, there is something really wrong with this situation. You took vacation, but then you have to fill in for someone else because they are out when you were supposed to be off? This sounds really wrong. I hope you get things worked out and a new project to take your mind off things.

What? Are you kidding me? You may want to look into the labor laws regarding this. I don't think they can force you to take your vacation in order for you to make your hours. Did you already have your vacation time scheduled? And if so, why is this other person all of a sudden not available. I am not sure what you do, or if your company has an HR department, but it wouldn't hurt to look into the matter a bit more seriously, if not for you, then for the next person they try to pull this on. Quilting on the other hand sounds like a fine idea to me! Good luck! pet the fabric! It is a wonderful way to calm down and regain the strenght you need!

If it makes you feel better...shop away girl. Sounds like the powers that be need to experience what you're going thru. Too bad you can't do you longarm all day. Washington just needs more quilters to finish more quilts to give to you. Good luck in whatever you decide.

Kathy...what a bummer. I just don't think some employers use their head's these days. But I hate to say every work place has some form of this. Just hope your's gets better. I do agree that a "new project" sounds like a very good solution. Although the ordering does get me in trouble sometimes!! lol Good luck I hope your week gets better! Georgia

Doesn't sound like you should be having to use any of your vacation time since you are not getting a vacation. I'm so sorry. Wish you could go to bed and wake up and discover is was just a bad dream.
