I just purchased my 2nd Janome ( my first one is almost 14 yrs old and I've worked it almost to death) and really, really like it.  We haven't been able to spend a lot of time working together yet so I won't call it love, but it could be in a few moe months :).

Love my Janome 6600 too!!!!! I also went from a Kenmore to a Janome and have traded up several times. Sewed on my mother's Pfaff also. I would like the sewing area lighting to be improved, thou.

I love my Pfaff, even though it is an old model.  But I also like the fact that it's NOT computerized, so I don't have to worry about electricity spikes or surge protectors to protect the "computer" inside.  But my Mom loves her Bernina and my sister prefers her Janome.  Perhaps going to different shops or vendors, & just sitting and sewing on their models would help you decide?  I"m sure one will feel "just right" when you sew - sort of like Goldilocks, huh?  :-D

I've sewn on every machine make and the best one is a Janome..........

I have a 6600 right now, have a 9000 embroidery machine...and a small one for taking to classes.

It's not fussy about thread (many machines are).....I'm more than 4 times

as old as you and been around machines a long time.   Save your $$$ and get a good one.....
