Quilt With Us

I finally got around to adding some of my art work thought that those in the swap I am in might want to see some of my art. They are not quilts but hope to someday be able to thread paint some of them and make them in to art quilts. Hope you enjoy looking at them they are just photos of copies out of my sketch pad from my beginning art class. I find it relaxing to set and doodle.

I hope to start my first Art quilt tomorrow I have a picture for inspiration and the fabrics picked may add more as I go along.

For the New Year I am determined to quilt for me. I have been quilting for others since I got my machine so I hope to be able to quilt what I want to. I am starting our with 3 quilts 2 of which will be donated tops where made by members of my heartstrings group and will go to my local guild to be donated to local organizations. the 3 will be my first art quilt which will go to the person that gets mine in the swap I can't wait to receive a piece of art from the talented ladies from my group.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year doing the things they love with the people they love.

I will keep you posted on my progress tomorrow. It just may be a day of hair pulling. I sure hope not I don't have much to spare so if you see me online I just me be needing some encouragement to jump in and go for it.

I will be quilting to the New Year hope some will be joining me in the quilt in to 2014.

Bye for now.

Wow! Love your sketches.  I agree with Debbie -- you are one talented lady. I'm glad you are going to do some things you want to do for yourself. The most important thing is to have fun with whatever you are doing. If it isn't bringing you joy then it is a chore and that's not what quilting, of any form, is about.

Your art work is amazing.... you are one talented lady. Can't wait to see your 'art' quilts and thread painting projects.  BJ is an incredible thread painter.... Don't worry about typos... it doesn't get any worse than texting "fill ins".

Your sketches are wonderful...once you learn thread quilting you will have some great quilts. Keep at it!
