Quilt With Us

Finally a moment to catch my breath and post at least one long overdue photo.  This is the graduation quilt made for my niece.  She is attending Black Hills State University in S.Dak. this fall.  I'm sorry it is a little blurry.  I'm not the greatest photographer of my quilts.

DD was married June 23rd:

It was a little warm in our old church with no air, but she was on Cloud 9 all day.

DS was home for the wedding and our branding the day before:

As of last night he was put on evacuation notice due to the big Ash Creek fire in Montana.  He said he was all packed up and ready to head out as soon as they were given the word.  All he had to do was load up horses and drive away.  The fire was 15 miles from them at that time.  Firefighters are stretched pretty thin across the west.

A friend of mine gave this to us for our 25th anniversary.  DH thought it needed to be prominently displayed by the front door.

I couldn't let him get away with that for too long, but it was good for a few laughs.

And so it goes from here.  If you are in western Nebraska, stop in.  I'll put you to work quilting on DD's DWR.   Bring rain!

Gorgeous bride!!--thankful that DS made it out ok.  Are you in drought this year? hope not.  All fine here, most of TX is out of the drought, but SE Tx is having great showers, and cooler than usual, PTL!!

I love how the feathers  are the borders and the sashing  also looks to me, Native American.

It is so sad about the fires. I keep looking at the forest in backyard and thank our County for having a band against fires during the dry times and Summer.

I am glad your son had time to plan.

What a wonderful quilt! I hope your son and his horses are away from the Ash fire. Last I knew it was about 187,000 acres--it's so awful up there.

Great pics PQ!  I love the old nag & stud sign.  That is something my parents would have gotten a good laugh out of.

Didn't realize you were working on TWO quilts AND getting ready for a wedding!  You've really been busy!  Love this quilt and the feathers in the border.  Wasn't sure until I read it below, yes they are feathers.  Way cool, P.Q.!!!  And prayers for your son fighting the Montana fires.
