Quilt With Us

Thank you all for the well wishes!  I'm still just kinda sitting around -- but at least I have the two cats and the silly dog to keep me company.  We're all hanging out in the lower level of the house, stayin' cool and stayin' outta trouble.

I'm not seeing much improvement at this point, but I am still at the start of the physical therapy.  I'll probably need a flow chart to adequately explain this, but my younger daughter's best friend's mom is going to be doing most of the treatments with me.  The boot is a major annoyance, since wearing it when I'm not walking is actually more painful after a while, and the night brace keeps me awake!  *sigh*

Last night I finished the third Elm Creek book -- I think I have all of the ones out in paperback, but one question I have is about the "Christmas" and "New Years Quilt" books.  Should I be reading those to keep up with the story?  I can't seem to find them in regular paperback, and some of the reviews suggested that they are more side books and aren't part of the overall picture.  There are all of the smaller side stories, like the ones with Joanna, but they are part of the big picture...  If nothing else, I would sooo love to find a place like Elm Creek!!  It's like the worlds of B'n'B and quilt workshop at their best!

I hope everyone is staying cool if you're in the hot areas...!

If "misery likes company" you'll have some.  I'll be starting therapy on Thurs. for tendinitis in my left shoulder.  Good luck gardengirl!

I think that those two are really "side stories" to the rest.  Keep up with all the docs tell you so you can be back on your feet as soon as possible.

I, too, would love to have that kind of retreat place to go to.  Sounds like heaven doesn't it?

Good luck with the recovery!  Keep cool...although we seem to have a break in the heat today.

I have only read "The Lost Quilter" so I am really not sure about the other Elm Creek books.  Everyone tells me you do not have to read them in order but I think when I have time I will go back to the beginning.
