Quilt With Us

Finished a project---a bag to collect threads and little scraps while sewing and a pincushion to hold it onto the edge of the sewing table.  I used scraps.  I think I'll make one for gift exchange at Christmas party next Dec.

Pincushion is filled with rice; a quilting friend suggested sand which would sharpen the pins.  I failed to mention that on back side (below star fabric) of bag is a "V" shaped pocket for the scissors; I should have put scissors in there.

really cute. i read recently that you can use old coffee grounds to stuff a pincushion. they smell divine and sharpen your needles!

Love the patriotic fabric.  Great gift.

I love these thread catchers.  I have a couple of them.  I like the way the fabric matches your sewing machine.

Nice!  And, I think I own some of that same fabric.  I have two of those in my sewing room - they really are handy.

So cute, and what a great way to use Red, White & Blue!

Very nice, I could use one - or two!  :)

I like it!  Positioning the scissors nearby gives a good idea of the size.  What did you use to fill the pincushion?
