Quilt With Us

I have an internet friend who lives in Australia.  She and her husband have become active at an animal rescue sanctuary that is in desperate need of funds to help all of the animals they try to take care of.  So I offered to send them a quilt to be either raffled or auctioned off.  So my question to all of you is this: Should I remove the label that I currently have on the back of the quilt that gives my name, the name of the quilt, the name of the group of ladies who made the blocks & the year or should I just add a 2nd label stating I'm donating it to this rescue organization?

Thanks Roxann.  I posted this same question on Pat Sloan's group on Facebook and some of those ladies said I should remove it since it has my name, city & state, but I sincerely doubt anyone from Australia is going to come to the US & cause me any problems.  I agree that the providence of this quilt really needs to be left on there.

You should absolutely leave your label! You all worked too hard to not be recognized, and who knows where it will end up yearsssss from now. A fun piece of history for whomever it gets handed down too!

I hope it raises lots for the rescue!

Thanks Barbara.  I hope it raises big bugs for the charity too.

My vote is add a second label. I hope it earns big bucks for the charity.

Thanks for the advice everyone.  That is what I was sort of leaning toward doing so I'm happy to see you all agree.  She said the animal that needs the most help right now is this huge old water buffalo that had become stuck in the mud & had to be literally pulled out.  She was showing pics of kangaroos & other wild animals.  Same situation as here in the US when people get baby animals and then can't handle them when they grow up so they abandon them.  This couple who runs this rescue center get no help from the government so they rely on donations and fundraisers to keep afloat.

Me too - I'm with the others.  The person who wins the quilt will love to know that it originated in North America.  Make a second label.

I'm with the others, but I love knowing the "story" behind the quilt.  How fun to have one of your quilts "move" to Australia.

I totally agree with Pam.  Credit where credit is due.  I think whoever gets the quilt will love knowing the origin.

Add a second level...I think whomever gets the quilt will be grateful that someone from America was caring and generous! Good for you...very generous!
