Quilt With Us

As soon as the gray days of winter set in I start craving color and thinking about summer, it seems like it stays dreary longer every year. I made these place mats from the book Turning Strips and Squares into Table Sets. They were so quick, easy AND quilt as you go. You could whip them out in an afternoon. I can imagine making special place mats for different occasions. I especially like that they fit on my round table. There is also a pattern for hot pads and a casserole carrier that goes with them. I used a little fabric from Cheep Talk, Golden Afternoon, and Quilter's Candy. I love quick and easy things!

I think that sounds like a fair trade Judy...Karen gives you her heron for 6 place mats!

It's a House of White Birches book called Turning Strips and Squares into Table Sets. Connecting Threads sells it. Click on the title and you'll see it and can look at the inside pages of the book.

Of course it is a no. If I could make them in an afternoon. You could make them in a few minutes! I'm slow. I have a long list of things I need to finish up so you'll have to do it yourself. Would you make me a heron? Of course not!

Karen - You could in an afternoon. They are so fast. doing the binding takes the most time and you could do all of them while you are watching TV. I am going to make 2 more, and the hot pads and I'm thinking about the casserole carrier. I think they would look so cute in red and white and red and white striped binding. They would look like candy canes. Mmmmm peppermint!

Wow, you really cranked those out quickly! Very cute! If I give you the fabric, could you crank out, say 6 or so, for me? :)
