Quilt With Us

Last week Thursday I was at the Quilt Exp in Madison, Wisconsin.  I was totally humbled by the amazing stitching, and artistry on display.  I left feeling thrilled for having gone, yet so inadequate at my quilting.  I sent pictures to my DIL, who said yes, they are beautiful, probably take years to make, but I would much rather have a quilt to cuddle with.  Yay!  She said just the right thing...a great reminder of why I quilt.  I will try to add a few pictures here from the Expo.

Amazing quilts! But, the happiest quilts are the ones clutched up under a chin during a nap.

Beautiful work!  Waaaay over my head, of course, but I like my simple landscapes and DH said this weekend as he snuggled under one of the first quilts I made for him (simple piecing, flannel backing, and relaxed quilting) that it was the most comfortable of all my quilts!  Well, back to basics.

Thanks for sharing your photos.

Love them! Thanks for sharing. Isn't it great to have such a diversity of what we can do with fabric and thread?

Isn't it just amazing what some fabric and a little imagination can do?  Certainly out of my league, but admired just the same.  I get just as excited over a simple 9 patch as I do these wonderful art quilts.  Must be the addiction to fabric in whatever form it comes.  :D

Beautiful! I agree and admire their talent but I want something to snuggle with and pass on to my nephews who will do the same!

I agree with DIL about making quilts to cuddle with, but these  2quilts are really are truly  beautiful and I admire the quilters who did them. Many talented quilter artist out there, our own BJ, among them.

I saw the second picture last July in Syracuse. It took her 7 yrs. to make it. Fun to look at, but agree, I like our humble masterpieces.
