I made this quilt for my sister more than 20 years ago. She mostly used it to hang off her loft railing. She has decided to retire in Costa Rica, so hard decisions on what to take. Quilts are not essential. She sent it back with a note saying...thanks for the loan, but we know this belongs in your home!

What a beautiful quilt with those rich reds and greens! A timeless beauty. Never would have guessed it was more than 20 years old. We have been to Costa Rica. Pura Vida. Friendly people, great scenery, but I couldn't make the move. Sisters!
Beautiful quilt. I too have watched a lot of House Hunters where people look for homes there. If I was willing to try that, I would not want to buy a house in case I decide I want to come back to the US to live. We have friends who spent the last year living in the Yucatan portion of Mexico. They absolutely loved it, but their daughter has a son with several autism & she needed them to be closer to help out when she needs it.
Pam, your comment gave me a good laugh regarding your sister.
Irene, I agree! I can see having a vacation spot to visit, but I'm not leaving my home! I think my parents dropped her on her head when she was little! lol
Pam that is gorgeous. I'm glad she sent it back for you to enjoy. I seen an episode of House Hunters awhile back and a couple was looking for a home in Costa Rica. I was beautiful there. But I have to admit I love the USA to leave it for good.
Sounds like she loves this quilt, but now it's time for you to enjoy it. It's beautiful Christmas quilt and a lot of work went in to make it. Like PQ said, now another place to go hang out and relax.
So beautiful! Glad you both have a chance to enjoy it. And just in time for Christmas.
PS: Visiting her will be another fun getaway, won't it? :)
