I finished my "Dancing Butterflies" quilt today. It was difficult for me to get back to sewing. I really had to push myself but once I got started I was lost in the hum of the sewing machine. It was a nice break from life for a little while. It has been a rough week for me. I've been on such an emotional roller coaster ride since the death of my sweet grandson. On a brighter note, my 6 new puppies are 5 weeks old and I had to build them a little pen outside so they can roam and play. They are so fun to watch playing with each other. They are finding their little puppy growls and discovering their new world. Snow seems to be a scary thing for one of them, but another one's favorite thing to play in. One of them will be going home to my son in a couple of weeks. He will be welcomed into a home with lots of love to give to him. And lots of little arms to snuggle in. I hope he brings some joy to the broken hearts of my kids and grand kids who are missing our boy, Colton.

Comment by colorado13 on March 1, 2013 at 6:28pm Victoria, my heart goes out to you. The death of a child is the worst pain there is. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.
Comment by Jennie Steward on February 24, 2013 at 6:24pm Victoria...my heart breaks for you and your family. I continue to pray for you all. I am glad that you pushed yourself to start sewing again. Between sewing and your 6 puppies that should keep you busy. Nothing will stop you from missing your grandson I know, but keeping busy helps the time pass in a better way than if you didn't. May you find comfort in the memories.

Comment by Irene Gallway on February 23, 2013 at 6:14am Love your butterfly quilt. Quilting is theraputic, and I'm glad you put it to good use to help you over the rough spots this week. Would love to see a pic of those sweet little puppies.

Comment by Mary, Tewksbury MA on February 22, 2013 at 4:02am Saw your picture, good job. Nice to be able to lose yourself, if only for a few hours. Colton's death is still new, so the roller coaster will continue for awhile. It should in time moderate and hopefully leave you with only positive memories of your wonderful little angel. You and your family are in my thoughts.
