Today Mom, Kathy, and I went to Sauder Village quilt show. We had a blast! There was so many quilts that were beatiful and it was really hard to decide who to pick for the people's choice award. I finally settled on "Elaine's Garden". (I think that was the name. It was made to honor her friend who died of cancer.) Mom decided on the doll house quilt. It had lots of embellishments, and looked like the inside of a doll house. Kathy choose a log cabin in reds. (Lynda, I think it was yours she chose!) The was one that was pieced and was about the size of a notebook. The was one that had a hippy vw bug titled the age of aquarius. LOVED THAT!!!! There was a black machine quilted whole cloth done with oreintal dragons. There was a sun bonnet sue that had halloween costumes. There was one that reminded me of laurel burch and i love the horse motif quilting in it. THe one that stood out the most was a full size dwr with wonderful hand quilting. At first, I thought it machine quilted. But after taking a close look, I realized it was hand quilting. The stitches were tiny!!! I counted them AND IT WAS 24 STITCHES TO THE INCH! I feel pretty good if I get 14 to the inch. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn't have thought it was possible. There was an older women admiring it too and see had never seen stictches that tiny. It was unbelievable.
