Quilt With Us

Are we going to lose "Quilting With Us"?  I got a message that this Network is at risk of being disabled.

I think it is just a matter of time.  I will start a new discussion about an alternative to QWU.

That would also explain why the woman I spoke with on the phone didn't seem very interested in finding out what was going on.  I don't even know what her job is.  All she said that was they were all working from home.  I joined the Together We Quilt forum on Facebook.  I don't know if it was started by Connecting Threads or if just a fan of theirs started it, but it does have some members I used to see on here on it.

I have been doing a little research.  The ads on the right side of the home page are way out of date.  I checked and they have been the same for 2 years now. I also checked to see when the staff started to dwindle.  It was around November 2018.  At that time, they were down to four.  In February of this year, there were still four.  In June there was the one.  So sometime between February and June, all the staff left but the one.  The one has not posted in years.  With Ning giving the announcement that the network may go down from lack of payment,  I think it has been abandoned.   I dread the day we pop in and "Quilting With Us" is no more.  8o(

Thank you, Irene. I'm not on Facebook, but my husband is, so I'll see if I can find her. We had enjoyed many texts, but somehow, I lost her email address and now my friends list is gone. The PNW is doing better with the rain we are having. It's not lots, but will help with the fires and hopefully clear the smoke away. Now if the rain just continues across the state into Idaho and beyond.  Have a great day.

It would be nice to know how many are actually still active here.  With over 100 groups inactive, I would think not many.

There were about 500 members when I joined, but I never participated in any groups. I texted with my friends and when on a trip to AK, got to meet 2 of them. I haven't blogged in years, but log in daily to read the ones that are posted. If it is deleted, I'll miss seeing some of my friends. I haven't seen Pam on for quite awhile and miss her hummer and her stories. Another is BJ and wondering how she is doing? Sure hope that it can continue.

Right now, all the signs show that CT has abandoned QWU.  We will not know for sure until all attempts to get information about QWU has failed.

Out of curiosity the other day I checked to see how many groups are listed and how many are still active.  There is only 9 active groups out of 182.  It really only takes a few seconds to delete a group so it seems to me that if they want to cut down on the expense of storing photos, etc., that would be the place to start.   Some of the groups never had any activity at all after being set up.  Some have not had any activity at all for 5 years.

I think I've been a member since 2012 because the first thing I remember joining was the PerfectPoints quilt along. I really enjoyed taking that quilt along. Learned a lot because I was new to quilting.
