Quilt With Us

Hey Y'all,

I was surfing the web and came across this website:  www.quiltsforkids.org I'm sure most of you already know about this site, but for those of you that do not, check it out. You are making quilts for sick kids all over the nation.  All you have to do is request that a kit is mailed to you. It's free! I got mine in about 2 days.  Everything is included and already cut for you.  All you have to do is sew it and then make a quilt of your own and send both quilts back to them.  I thought this was great.

Just thought I would pass it along.  I can't wait to get started on mine.   Go to the site for more details.

Great charity.  I've made several quilts and have some of my own fabric to make some additional ones.  Such a good cause.

I am on my third QFK quilts.  One of our QWU gals is on her 23rd or 24th!  It is a great opportunity to give to charity!  Love it!  Welcome aboard!

I'm on my 8th and 9th QfK quilt - I enjoy making them. It also gives me a chance to practice FMQ on my machine.

I am currently working on a Quilt for Kids. I have the kit completed, and am about 1/4 of the way of quilting my own that I'm sending back with it. This will be my 3rd & 4th. I have also started on another of my own and will request another kit once I get these sent back. I enjoy doing this for the kids!

It's so rewarding to know that the kids have something special just for them. I sew for Project Linus, which is also, donating small quilts to Children's Hospitals, for the firemen and policemen to give and the shelters or whoever. In my area, Pacific Fabric stores collects the blankets and our area co-ordinator pickes them up. Linda Lane is our co-ordinator and also works at the fire station in Woodinville. We get to use one of the meeting rooms, once a month to sew, shop for material and batting donated to bring home and make more quilts. I really love doing this and hearing stories about the children who love them so much. I have 5 ready to take this month and feel good about it.

Quilt Man about this time last year about 20 or more of us did that and now there are some of us that still do it on a regular basis.  It does make you feel good all over when you send those quilts back.  I still watch the slideshow to see if I see any of my quilts.
