Quilt With Us

Woke up early this am to sound the rain rain hitting the terrace. I am looking forward to a day under my quilt hand quilting away. I have never hand quilted a king size quilt, my plan is to mark how many blocks I get quilted each day on a calender. So far, I have eighteen blocks done in my first week. The whole quilt has 121 blocks, If I keep up this pace I could have done this quilt done in early January. So I am shooting for the beginning of February, sounds reasonable. It is amazing how much you can accomplish by just keeping at it.

Lovely! It's nice that you have set a goal.  It will be a beautiful quilt once finished.

Great minds, Budsgram----that star was one of two designs I narrowed down to for my DIC.  I wound up using a Celtic cross from one of the Quilting Designs CDs.  Absolutely beautiful work you are doing---as usual!  aaaah---I'm back on here again!

Pam here is a sneak preview. I am doing a celtic motif in two different sizes. The smaller one is shown on the alternate block.  Joana, I have that same problem, my second visit on QWU today and only one block finished. My husband is baking oatmeal cookies, cookies and coffee and a Christmas movie should help me get back to work.

Me too!  My tree has no ornaments on it yet, but the lights are pretty, and I'm just a row of Baptist fans across my quilt and it is finished, ready to be bound.  I started it November 1st--hoped to have it finished by November 30th, but I still feel really good about it (it isn't a king size though!).  It does help to have a goal and keep a record of each day.  Otherwise it's too easy just to drift off somewhere---or spend too much time on QWU, as i'm doing now!!!!!!

That sounds like a perfect way to spend the day!  I'm going to do some hand quilting on the butterfly quilt today too.  I'm running a bit behind on what I hoped to get done so I need to make an effort to get caught up.

That's a lot of quilting in a short period of time! I'm sending my projects to your house! Can we see a picture of what you're working on?
