Hey you guys, talkin' about me?  LOL!  Believe it or not, I'm here nearly every day and read the main page every day - I love keeping up with everyone.  I'm mostly active in a few groups, so I don't post much here.

 

I too, have been in an after Christmas no sew slump.  But I have a couple of January deadlines for exchanges in one of my groups, so I really do need to dust off the machine (and pack up the Christmas wrapping paper that is hogging my cutting table!).  I'm sewing with Judy this weekend, so maybe that will help kickstart me!

Prairie Quilter - I love the main page. I read and comment on blog posts but have been VERY bad about posting. I know a lot of the staff spend a lot of time in the Quilt With Us Groups they are involved in and don't have the time to post on the main page as often as they would like to. The Notions blog is a meant for Connecting Threads related projects and posts and isn't meant to replace this one or keep the staff separate. We don't want the main page to be all about Connecting Threads and want to keep it personal so we have the Notions blog in addition to this. You are right, Karen was very active and did post a lot everywhere!

Janet - I belong to Karen's UFO Group and I'll never get out because even though I complete a lot of projects, my UFO list got longer this year! That's how serious we are about finishing :) Everyone does their lists differently. A lot of people HATE lists and don't make them, others are in denial. For years now, every January I make a list on my computer of my completed projects from the year before, my UFO list and my projects I want to start. Some are just patterns and ideas and some have the fabric all ready to start in a bag. My list is simple. I just list the names of the projects. I still keep buying everything in sight though! I find it amazing how many things I complete but if I didn't write them down I wouldn't remember them in January.

Judy, it is so refreshing to see your post here.  I like it when the CT staff posts on the main blog.  I never check the other blog and it seems to set the CT staff apart - more distant maybe.  It's a different feel anyway, to me.  Something I always appreciated about Karen, she was an active and involved part of "us."  I waited until after the kids went back to college before heading back to my quilting corner and dusting off the machine.  Just finished up a quick calendar holder project.  It was a machine PP, which isn't my favorite method, but pretty necessary for the little tiny blocks in the pattern.  Now I need to see what older projects need finished up.  Or maybe I'll get to some of those "someday" projects that have been waiting in the wings.  Hmmm...  Anyway, best wishes on your new/old projects!

Christmas is my favorite holiday and afater I take the tree down, I leave the outside lights up until the middle of Jan. I have never had a holiday slump and maeks me glad. Happy quilting again!!!

I understand, Judy - just coming out of my post holiday slump.........it was pretty deep this year!  Have started on a "small" project, I said that after Christmas gifts and heavy heavy items.....I was going to take on something small and bright/happy!!!  Curious about your UFO list, had never thought of making one.......sounds like a good idea.......is it something that just lists the project, what fabric you have for it? How does that work??

You go girl!  Get to sewing.  One of my "goals" for 2011 was to do something sewing/crafting related everyday (not including my workday sewing) and so far I've been keeping up.  I don't make resolutions but I do set yearly goals!
