Quilt With Us

I joined Connecting Threads, many years ago.  I received one of their catalogs in the mail, got on their Web Site, joined QWU and met many new friends. Each morning they would post that days, birthday list.  But CT grew in numbers to the point posting birthdays was not feasible any more.  But that was O.K. we continued to post and respond to one another and use the chat to have regular "hen" parties. (several chatting at the same time)  I miss those days.  I'm guilty of not posting much due to nothing much to say or no pictures to post. I do like to respond to others who post just to keep in touch.  I realize that life takes us in many different directions and things change and people lose touch with one another. I just want to say I miss the faces who once were regulars on here and I would love to get to know you newer members and have chats with you.  ~ Irene

I too have been bad. Just one more month and I will be retired. Hopefully I will have more time to spend on here to chat with everyone. I miss talking to all of you.

I know what you meant - maybe they could figure out how to get them out of there if they haven't already.  They were figuring out if the whole area was secure enough to set up a crane last I heard.  I think most of the cars lost were either the property of the museum or General Motors so I guess that's better than individuals who were "attached" to their cars.  But that area housed the unique cars, like prototypes, the millionth Corvette off the assembly line, pace cars for big races, etc.  A bit of history lost for car buffs.

I really don't mean to make light of what happened because many lost their precious cars. It just hit my funny bone thinking about Dale and Bob spending a couple of hours looking at a sink hole.  I am truly glad no one was physically injured. I know their hearts are broken.  They are both such good men that they would actually do something like that just so Kathy and I could go buy fabric!!

We were at the Corvette Museum this past September and I was astounded when I saw the video and realized I have pictures of us standing RIGHT THERE.  Oh my goodness, what a blessing it happened when the museum was closed but what a shame to lose all those classic cars.

Carol your words are so true, I have been so very blessed to have met you and Jim and many others from QWU.  You know who you are!!!  We have laughed and talked and shared.  I feel so blessed.  The last time I went to Whittles was with Kathy Steele, we had such a good time that day.  Kathy if you read this I am sooooo ready to go again.  Not that I need anything, just for the fun of the road trip!!

We could take Bob and Dale and drop them off to see the big sink hole at the Corvette Museum!!! lolololol

It amazes me how close I can feel to wonderful friends that I've never seen  in person -- and how awesome it is to have the opportunity to actually  meet up with some of those friends.  It truly is like I've known them forever....and like old friends, we pick up right where we left off even if it's been a long time since the last post or last visit.  The internet can be used for evil purposes for sure; but I thank God every day for letting me meet so many special ladies through this forum. Our paths may never have crossed any other way.   Love you all!

I feel like it is old home week on here!!  All of us are the old girls on here!!  I miss all of you too Irene, I know how you feel but I've gotten lazy and just don't get on as much.  You know one of the things I have noticed is how much more impressive and elaborate the quilting is from the first years on here. There is sooooo much talent.  I am in amazement.  Many of us were just starting out and now when I see the workmanship in the finished products I am blown away.  I am trying to work my way back in more often, after this post from you maybe all of us will!!

Hello Irene, I don't actually quilt nearly as much as the rest of you do, but I still read the posts almost everyday.  I sew almost everyday, mostly clothes for the GKids and household goodies, so I don't feel as entitled - not actually quilting - to post too often.  Like you, I enjoy the personal stories, and certainly the pictures!

I have been trying to limit the time I spend online, for this year I have resolved to clean the basement and get rid of unneeded collection and that's what I have been doing lately.  It's nice to catch up with what everyone has been doing, and also fun to read posts from the newcomers, and I don't always add comments.
