Quilt With Us

We are starting a remodel of our main bathroom, so have been out scouting products. We went to the Home Depot to check out their washer and dryers. I never noticed that they had built a 700 sq ft. second floor for appliances. The clerk said there is a one person elevator to get up there in a wheelchair. Okay...let's do it! Well, it's one of those half open air jobbies that give you the feeling it isn't going to make it. Does that even ring a bell??? NO.... I'm focused on seeing the appliances. So, he loads me in...now, I know what it feels like to be a cow being loaded in a trailer. Then I realize hubby is taking pictures from up above laughing!

The clerk turns the key and it starts up and then half way up... chugs to a stop! So, I'm looking up wondering how far it is to climb out of this , if I had to. The clerk is getting nervous...we're laughing. I heard someone mention the fire dept. I told him over my dead body. I didn't want to be on local news for this!!!! So, I just tried jiggling the key a bit and it took off. I swear...I am related to Lucy Ricardo!

Hubby is filming this for later laugh-a-thon I'm sure.

Have a blessed Easter!

Only you would have this adventure, Pam.  So.... was it worth the "ride"?  Did you find your washer and dryer?  And you didn't mention how you got down. LOL

Happy Easter.

Well, I can see right now you should have taken your quilting along! When they finally rescued you another block would have been finished and you would be calm as a cucumber!

I fell down the steep stairs, so maybe the ride would had been better?

It's nice to know that I am not the only one these things happen to. Trouble seems to follow me also. Hope you have better luck with the bathroom remodel. Might as well laugh with your DH, can't shoot him!

OMG, don't you wonder some times why we keep them? Except for the photo op, I'd survive being stuck in an open elevator but not a closed one. Can you spell panic attack? It's B A R B A R A.

Pam, when I read this my first thought was "We can NOT let our husbands meet."  Who could tell what they'd think up together.  It's for sure and certain there would be WAY too much mischief going on at our expense.  Good thing we both have a sense of humor and high tolerance level of their antics.

You have earned my DH's admiration at your great attitude toward life and your great sense of fun.  Personally, I think he sees you as just another potential target of his orneriness - because he knows you could take it.  ;)

I was on one of these rigs a few months ago. I had taken an old lady to the dr. and she had to use it.  She's not in a wheelchair so we both got on. It only had to go up one floor but it seemed to take forever. The only reason I got on with her, it had an open top. We have an elevator at our church that I won't ride on.  When I have to take my sewing gear to the sewing club I either do the ramp entrance or put my stuff on the elevator hit the button and run up stairs to retrieve my stuff off the elevator.  Go ahead call me chicken. I will admit it.  Looking forward to seeing pic of your new BR

OH HECK NO!  I would have hyper-ventilated as soon as it stopped.  Elevators are NOT my friend.  Everytime I get in one I have visions of getting trapped.  Being a Macgyver in my own mind and being in a Home Depot, I would have built something and taken my chances and catapulted myself up there.

Thanks for the giggle!  Only these things happen to you!

Happy Easter and I hope you got the appliances of your dreams!
